WHAT IS PUBLIC ACCESS TELEVISION? |
Public access television, also known as
community access television, offers individuals
and group’s entry level electronic media
training at a low cost donation that in turn
will help support Public Access. This will equip
the individual with the ability to use RCAC-TV
equipment in order to produce their own programs
within the rules and regulations of RCAC-TV.
It’s fun and can help promote awareness of new
ideas and diversity. Think of it as a new way to
express your ideas to your community via
high-end fiber-optic television.
Public access television was a result of the
Cable Communications Act of 1984, in which
Congress established a provision that would
permit municipalities to develop requirements
for public use of local cable systems.
