Learn
BASIC Television and Video Production |
We offer both studio and field production workshops. Have no
fear; Our user friendly workshops are designed for people
who have no previous experience. You can train to become a
volunteer camera or audio operator. Learn the basics of
direction and production in TV. Think of the possibilities
for your own home videos! Explore the world of video
blogging. You need no previous experience.

KECT! |
After completing our workshops, You can become a producer or
a crew member on community access television show that is
then cable cast on KECT. You just need to take one or more
of our qualifying workshops to train on our equipment.
Studio classes are held on Monday evenings from six to ten
PM.

Introduction to Studio Production |
This
celebrated studio production class is held on Monday
evenings from six to ten pm for a total of twenty four hours
of expert training, and will equip you with
the know-how to produce your own TV shows. Your show will air
on KECT TV. Tell your friends to tune in. This is a great
way to get started on a new career or just to have a great
time at an affordable price of less than five dollars an
hour.

previous experience necessary.
|
We recommend our
introduction class for future producers who want to get an
idea of how a TV show is put together. Learn the basics of
studio production including news and talk shows. You will
learn green screen, lighting, camera operation, floor
direction, audio engineering, technical directing; camera
operation and directing. Participants receive hands-on
practice with all equipment and crew positions. As a final
project, the class produces a real half-hour TV show to be
cablecast on KECT. Classes are held at the KECT/RCAC Studio
located at 137 Locust street in Redding CA…

students per class.

Field
Production and Mobile Unit production use |
Only $75.00 per Student - Ages 16 and up.
This 2-day course provides
hands-on training in field production using professional
cameras and our M.P.U. truck. Students will be trained in
camera operation, lighting techniques, shooting for an
interview, cutaway shots, and audio. This is a great intro
course for those interested in crewing on documentary and
field productions, or gathering cutaway footage to roll-in
on KECT studio shows. Classes are held at the KECT/RCAC
Studio.

arrangement in Video Editing, Field Camera, Video Blogging,
and Uploading your Video to the Web! Please contact us at

your one-on-one session. If you gather your own group, group
lesson options for a discounted price per person are also
available.

Field Camera course |
This training
introduces you to our Panasonic HMC-150 Digital Camcorder
and other equipment needed in field production. In 1
hour, learn how to set up the camcorder and operate
the portable equipment. In 3 hours, you will also
learn some field shooting methods and techniques.

Intro to Video
Editing |
Intro to Video
Editing teaches you the basics of video editing
through hands-on practice using our Adobe Premiere
editing system. In 2 hours, learn basic editing
concepts such as cutting, dissolving and adding
music. In 3 hours, you'll also learn how to digitize
video from tape, and edit with simple effects, music
and titles. In 4-5 hours, you'll gain the knowledge
to edit a simple project from start to finish,
including how to export your final project to DVD.

Intro to Video
Blogging |
This is a hands-on
introductory workshop about the exciting new world
of video blogging; pod casting, and related graphics
and web tools. You will survey and access existing
video blogs while exploring basic camera, editing
and publishing techniques for your personal video
blogs. Although not required, it is suggested you
bring your own laptop and existing video clips for
exercises.

Uploading Videos to
the Web |
In this hands-on
workshop you’ll learn how to upload your videos to
the web. We’ll guide you step-by-step to create an
account on YouTube, upload your video, and then briefly
discuss how to integrate this into your own website
or blog.

Class/Workshops/Training Cancellation Policy
All workshops and training classes must be paid for in
advance. Full refund will be given if user cancels at least
one week in advance. If cancellation occurs less than one
week prior to the start of the class, KECT will retain the
entire workshop fee. Reservations for workshops and
trainings are not final until payment is secured. |
